Princeton library dedication-
Princeton University is a well-respected Ivy League college located in Princeton, New Jersey. Robert taught at this school for more than half his life, and loved every second of it. The staff at Princeton University was extremely talented, and many of Robert's colleagues were writers/poets/translators etc. just as he was. (See the page on the website called "Close Friends & Idols") Robert was among people just as interested in literature as he was, and he thrived there. Teaching and sharing his knowledge made him estatic.

Princeton University appreciated Robert and his work as a writer greatly, and after his death they dedicated an entire section of the Princeton library to him. It was called "Robert Fagles" and students will forever remember his name/legacy because of Princeton's generous tribute. Robert was also invited to speak at many events during his time at Princeton. He held readings of the Odyssey for staff, students, and anyone who wanted to listen in. Princeton even invited Robert to speak as the honorary guest speaker to a graduating class, which is a huge honor.

Even after Robert's death, the Fagles continued to involve themselves in Princeton's affairs and community. Marilyn, Roberts wife, regularly donates money to the college and is on the Princeton Library Board. The pair was very well-respected among Princeton associates. About a month after Robert passed away, an long detailed obituary/life story was written about him and published in the Princeton magazine. The article talked about Robert's unwavering dedication to his teaching career, and many other positive topics. Although he is not alive, Robert will stay alive in the memory of Princeton, the place he oh so loved.
